Storybird
Our first nh student author storybird! What Should I Be? by nhtash on Storybird
The NH Storybird Project is comprised of 30+ NationalHigh Jakarta School students who share an interest in writing beautiful stories. Our springboard for the project is Storybird.com, a website that makes it easy for writers of any age and proficiency to find illustrations for their stories. It is also designed so that the stories are also published with a clean lay-out that encourages creativity through limiting options. The project is still very much in its infancy as it was introduced to a select number of students only this October (2012), and is purely for the joy of writing and sharing stories and not a requirement for any school subject.
Students who are invited to participate are provided with a student account that allows them to write, collaborate and explore stories within the Storybird website, as well as within the exclusive NH Storybird Authors community. Access to the NH Storybird Author library and discussion boards are only available to students who sign up through the student accounts I have issued. Other benefits of signing up with an NH Storybird account include feedback and collaborative work capability, inclusion in a Commendation Program and automatic membership in the NH Storybird Library and Library Collections. The student accounts also provide our students privacy as they can opt to have their work viewable only through the NH Storybird Library. I find the collaborative work capability interesting as it encourages NationalHigh writers to write stories together. I am envisioning writers from different classes and levels working together to write beautiful and inspiring stories to share. All published books from our writers (unless otherwise stated by the author/s) can be found in 'Our Storybirds,' a website which everyone can access without the need to sign in or make an account. Notable published books from our writers will be featured and displayed in the 'Features' section of our NH Storybird Library and the front page of the 'Our Storybirds' website. I'm very glad to have found Storybird as it allows our students a creative board to use, a writing corner where they can play with words and pictures and thoughts, to come up with various original stories to share.
You are invited to see the world through the digital ink of their own maps and read about the soul and its journey through their stories. Enjoy! |

You have a few favorite dishes. Maybe, you've even written numerous odes about them. (If you don't know what an ode is, check the dictionary.) But have you thought about the food you don't like?
Now's your chance to let the other one shine: write about food you find disgusting! (Possibles: a fruit, a dish, a dessert...) |
